The Universal Spice Blend

The Universal Seasoning Mix

Save money, reduce sodium and improve the flavor of your recipes by creating your own spice blends!
This is a food service and CACFP Spice It Up recipe for a dried seasoning blend.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Paprika
  • 3 T Onion Powder
  • 3 T Garlic Powder or 2 T granulated
  • 3 T Cayenne Powder
  • 2 T White Pepper
  • 2 T Black Pepper
  • 4 teaspoons Sea Salt
  • 4 teaspoons Thyme
  • 4 teaspoons Oregano
  • 4 teaspoons Cumin
  • 4 teaspoons Chili Powder

Method

1

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Label and store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

If your young eaters prefer milder flavors you can reduce the amount of cumin and cayenne pepper in this recipe.
